I believe deeply in being truthful. So many of the notable people that we see in the world nowadays are varying degrees of fake; by which I mean the whole spectrum from straight-up scam artists to deluded and pretentious “personalities”.
Well-acted drama gives us the opportunity to show real human emotions and reactions in many different imagined worlds - in science fiction, worlds linked back to ours by the human(-oid)s within them.
Our own world is increasingly divided into good and evil, heroes and villains. We must tell the truth of the people on the other side of the divide to our own. We must have art that reinforces over and over again that we are all human, we are all the same. We can all choose to be on the same side.
